Cross-Browser Compatibility

It is a well known website design complication that there are display inconsistencies between the most popular browsers. To ensure proper display, Basementia Design always tests new websites in multiple browsers to ensure that these display inconsistencies do not interfere with the proper layout and functionality of the site.

To ensure the forward compatibility of website design we now build all new sites to be compliant with the standards set out by the W3C, which is considered the universal authority on website coding standards. Complying with these standards assists websites to display better by users employing a variety of nonstandard new technologies and web surfing devices including handheld devices such as web-enabled cell phones and PDA's, as well as screen readers for the seeing impaired.

At Basementia Design™, we code our standards-compliant website design in XHTML with CSS, so your clients and prospects will have the most uniform experience possible when visiting your website, whether they are browsing the internet on the latest laptop device, an Internet enabled smartphone, or a ten year old desktop computer. (However, there is still no way to speed up a dial-up connection.)

If your pages require active content, we proudly offer cross-browser scripting services tailored to your needs. We test our JavaScript in multiple browsers to be sure it supports the latest technology and will not break on older devices (we typically support browsers as old as Internet Explorer 6.0, which was released in 2001.)
